Lib.Steps is a real-time search tool that integrates all information services in a single portal. Queries are made in full text with no need for metadata or limited keywords, allowing for Lib.Steps to integrate information from the smallest to largest institutions around the globe. There’s no need for librarians or publishers to submit metadata or any additional information.

The system uses artificial intelligence (AI) to perform queries of full text in real-time. Publications can be found in the same second that they are made public, regardless of the size and type of the information service (catalog, repository, open access, or subscribed platform).

The Cardenal Darío Castrillón Hoyos Library of the Catholic University of Pereira has incorporated the Lib.Steps (discoverer) tool which responds mainly to our needs in the process of searching and retrieving information, a friendly and easy-to-use system. Libsteps is a discovery tool that has functioned much better than any other discovery tool we have ever used. First of all, being a robot that executes searches in real time on all the resources associated with it, it frees my team from the tedious task of updating records in the discovery services indexes, and any changes made to our database.
